To realize Goal 1 of the 2023-2028 UCLA Strategic Plan–Deepen UCLA’s Engagement with Los Angeles–we need to foster favorable institutional conditions for community-engaged scholarship and creative activity. The UCLA Community Engagement Advisors Network includes faculty and academic staff representing each division and school, appointed by their dean, with additional representatives from the Institute of American Cultures, the International Institute, and the Library. The Network is co-chaired by Michelle Caswell, Special Advisor to the EVCP on Community-Engaged Scholarship, and Shalom Staub, Assistant Dean and Executive Director, Center for Community Engagement.
The Community Engagement Advisors Network will facilitate greater communication and collaboration among community-engaged faculty both within divisions/schools and across the university, supporting our effort to achieve greater impact and achieve equitable opportunities and outcomes for Angelenos through UCLA’s community-engaged work.
Interested faculty are encouraged to connect with the Community Engagement Advisor of their own school/division or reach out to a Community Engagement Advisor of another school/division if they are looking for explore connections to colleagues in those fields.
